This progressive design-build project includes the widening of Highways 43 and 69 from two lanes to four lanes as well as the addition of new bypasses along the 74-mile route from Thomasville to Moundville, Alabama. Along with the widening and bypass construction, the project will involve construction of 24 new bridges, drainage, land clearing and grubbing, relocation of utilities, and the installation of over 100 box culverts. The project will be divided into 13 segments, each averaging 5.7 miles in length.
This is a transformative project for the Alabama community and the state. The highway widening and other improvements will provide West Alabama’s rural areas more access to needed services and help drive economic development in the black belt.
The West Alabama Highway project will require a wide variety of vendors and subcontractors. If you would like for your firm to be considered, please fill out the adjacent form.
The WAH Project will create a four-lane, north-south highway
connecting communities in rural Alabama to the interstate system.
